Community Service Certifications

The Texas School Safety Center is pleased to provide students and student groups in 6th-12th grade an opportunity to request community service certificates for organizing projects or volunteering their time to help create safe and healthy schools and communities.

Examples of this type of community service can include the following:

Creating Safer Environments: school cleanup drives, tobacco and vape litter pickups, assisting with school maintenance projects, National Night Out, disaster relief, emergency preparedness training

Promoting Healthy Behaviors: mentorship programs, prevention campaigns, schoolwide presentations and events

Providing Resources: emergency preparedness donation drives, volunteering at local shelters or hospitals, blood drives

Requirements for Certificates

Certificates can be requested throughout the year for yourself or your student group. The following details of the community service completed must be provided when requesting a certificate:

  • Name of the community service project/program
  • Location, dates, and total hours of service
  • Purpose of the project/program
  • The role(s) you or your group served
  • Reflection questions
