Our downloadable resources are designed for students in 6th-12th grade to help their efforts in creating safe and healthy school environments. These resources feature guides, toolkits, and engaging activities that youth can use to educate and inform their peers about the importance of school safety, empower their peers to provide their unique perspectives, and encourage the student body to build positive, healthy social norms. While these resources are designed for youth use, we encourage teachers, coaches, and other school staff to utilize them as well.

Fun Activities for Building a Positive School Climate

The collection of activities featured within the guide focus on key areas that contribute to the overall well-being and success of students: teen mental health, building connections with each other and feeling like they matter, creating pride for their school, and building a community of kindness.

Some activities featured were provided by Texas schools who participated in focus groups with Youth Initiatives staff during the 2024-2025 school year.
